This common mostly white butterfly can be seen year round in south Florida. It has an attractive overlying pattern of wavy brown lines and bands highlighted with three eye-spots and orange margins on each wing. It has a wing span of 2.5 inches and usually opens its wings when sunning or feeding. The flight pattern of the White Peacock is always close to the ground. It uses a variety of host plants like Water hyssop and Turkey tangle Fog Fruit (Match Head Weed). The caterpillar is black and spiny.
