An attractive ground cover in our garden is the Beach Sunflower. A single yellow daisy-like flower terminates on a long stalk. It is a perennial that reseeds and provides a lush ground cover. It flourishes in sandy soil and tolerates some shade. Flowers bloom throughout the year. It is well adapted to the climate in Indian River County.
While many native plants flower once a year, the Beach Sunflower puts on a show all year. Look along the sunny banks of the Native Plant Garden and enjoy these bright yellow flowers.
